Organization profile

The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Montana is dedicated to advancing clinical pharmacy education, patient care, and community health across the state. Comprising experienced pharmacy clinicians and behavioral, social, and administrative faculty, the department provides robust instruction in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum while actively engaging in clinical practice across diverse specialties—including internal medicine, ambulatory care, psychiatry, infectious disease, and more. Students benefit from hands-on training through on-campus pharmacy services at Curry Health Center and the Skaggs Building, as well as through programs like IPHARM, which brings interprofessional health screenings to rural communities. With opportunities to participate in outreach initiatives, advanced residency placements, and continuing education programs for practicing professionals, the department ensures that graduates are well-prepared to serve patients and improve health outcomes throughout Montana and beyond.
