Welcome to the University of Montana’s School of Speech, Language, Hearing, & Occupational Sciences, part of the College of Health. We prepare students to become skilled professionals who assess, treat, and support individuals with disorders affecting speech, language, hearing, and swallowing. Our graduates are equipped for careers in educational, medical, and human service settings. Guided by a mission to enrich lives and communities—especially in the rural mountain West—through education, research, and service, the School fosters leadership in dynamic teaching, clinical practice, and scholarship. Students receive comprehensive training in communication development, neurological and social foundations, assessment and intervention, research methods, and professional practice, all aligned with current accreditation standards and ongoing strategic planning.
