The University of Montana’s School of Theatre and Dance is the state’s only public institution offering both undergraduate and graduate degrees in theatre and dance, providing a unique hub for creative expression and interdisciplinary collaboration. Grounded in UM’s core values—student success, “mission first, people always,” and partnership with place—the School prepares students not only for careers in the performing arts, but for a lifetime of creative problem-solving, collaboration, and cultural engagement. Through rigorous training, innovative coursework, and meaningful performance opportunities, students explore their identities, communities, and the wider world.
