Founded in 2019 through the merger of the School of Art and the School of Media Arts, the University of Montana’s School of Visual and Media Arts (SVMA) offers a comprehensive and innovative curriculum spanning traditional and emerging creative disciplines. Serving a vibrant community of artists, designers, and creators, SVMA provides flexible programs—including Bachelor’s and Master of Fine Arts degrees, as well as certificates in areas like Sound Studies, Digital Design, Documentary Film, eSports, and Museum Studies. With renowned faculty and accessible courses open to all UM students both in-person and online, SVMA fosters creativity and prepares students to thrive in the evolving fields of visual and media arts.
