Biyun Xiang

My research program sits at the intersection of gerontology, digital health, and cybersecurity, with a core mission to enhance the well-being and safety of older adults in an increasingly technological world. I investigate the dual challenges of protecting vulnerable seniors from digital threats—such as telecommunication scams and cyber fraud—while simultaneously exploring how technology can be harnessed to empower them. My work on the "cyber senior" paradigm focuses on improving digital literacy and fostering social connectedness. Concurrently, I develop and evaluate interventions involving robotic assistants and other AI-driven tools to support independent living and health management.
