Research Interests

Dr. Gyimah's research focuses on civics education, history education, Charter schools as the panacea for civics education, culturally responsive pedagogy, multicultural education, and race and racism in schools. He previously worked with a team of nine faculty members from Purdue University and North Carolina State University on Project RISE, a US Department of Education-funded project. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Social Studies Research, Journal of Social Studies Education, and Journal of School Choice.

Dr. Gyimah is particularly interested in international education, multicultural education, citizenship education, diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
