Govind Dhaske

As an activist scholar and expert in the cultural practices surrounding hair matting in India, Dr. Dhaske has extensive knowledge of the symbolism-based stigma, discrimination, and sexuality surrounding hair. With over 15 years of experience in human development, Dr. Dhaske has contributed to research, execution, management, impact analysis, strategic advocacy, and corporate social responsibility in the fields of gender, health, and social and economic justice.

As a social work educator, Dr. Dhaske has demonstrated scholarship on antiracist perspectives and indigenous approaches to social work pedagogy. Dr. Dhaske teach social work research, HBSE, and other important components of generalist and clinical curriculum in social work. In addition to research and teaching expertise, Dr. Dhaske is skilled in mentoring and training first-generation students from historically marginalized backgrounds. As an advisor to several nonprofits, Dr. Dhaske works to promote ethical community scholars and leaders and advance anti-caste and anti-racist ideals in social work.

Dr. Dhaske has provided expert advice on research design and qualitative methods for nonprofit and CSR initiatives in India and has a strong commitment to professional excellence in his contributions. Throughout his career in the nonprofit sector, academia, and as a freelancer, Dr. Dhaske has published numerous peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and books in the fields of social work, public health, sociology, political theory, and cultural anthropology.
