She is an autism specialist with over 30 years of experience in the field of speech-language pathology and specialized education. As an interventionist, consultant, presenter, instructor, researcher, and clinical educator, she draws on her years of public-school employment, implementation of her intensive program for kids with autism called YETI (Youth Engagement Through Intervention) and campus support program MOSSAIC (Mentoring, Organization, and Social Support for Autism/All Inclusion on Campus) to support her colleagues in the field. Dr. Schoffer Closson is highly invested in neurodiverse affirming, evidence-based, and individualized intervention to support our learners with autism and related disorders to move effectively and efficiently through this world. With the same level of importance, Dr. Schoffer Closson strongly believes in educating and supporting our communities to make our spaces more neurodiverse-inclusive and sensory-friendly, so everyone feels welcome and has the opportunity to learn, relate, experience, and thrive.
