Personal profile
Research Interests
I have conducted research in diverse areas such as asymmetric information, announcement effects, capital structure, dividend policy, corporate international financial issues, international business development policy, international business curricula, and development of international programs. I have also developed ethics cases for classroom use and focused on developing pedagogical exercises for my classes. I devoted a year to editing and updating a major Financial Markets and Institutions textbook. I have also empirically tested models of retirement under the 2018 Tax Act, evaluated the usefulness of online retirement calculators, delved into the ongoing challenges facing small and midsized firms in internationalization, and explored the changing role of business in society in the COVID-19 pandemic from an ethical perspective.
Teaching Experience
I enjoy teaching markets and institutions, corporate finance, honors finance, international finance, derivative securities, risk management, financial engineering, ethics and investments. My classes build knowledge of the business environment, critical thinking ability and problem solving skills. I also encourage the use of ethical principles and foster discussions of ethical decisions in my courses when appropriate.
