Abstract

The 2023 Aerodigestive Society meeting aimed to emphasize the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing aerodigestive disorders that affect the lungs, upper airway, and gastrointestinal tract in children. This approach necessitates the collaboration of multiple specialists and allied healthcare professionals. A collaborative approach to aerodigestive disorders is a young field with many opportunities for investigation of disease understanding and treatment approaches. This narrative review synthesizes key studies presented during the “Year in Review” session at the meeting, representing diverse specialties including otolaryngology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and nutrition, emphasizing the collaborative effort essential for enhanced patient outcomes in this complex field.
