Abstract
Open-path FTIR (OP-FTIR) when combined with synthetic calibration allows some inherent advantages of optical remote sensing (ORS) techniques to be realized, with good accuracy, in the study of smoke from biomass fires while eliminating the time-consuming requirement for laboratory acquisition of a large number of elevated temperature reference spectra.
