Abstract
Cultural adaptation refers to both a dynamic process by which an individual responds to a new cultural environment and to an outcome of an individual's acculturation. Immigrants relocating to a new culture will undergo the process of acculturation, which is characterized by the extent to which an immigrant will maintain his or her ethnic cultural practices and/or participate in the cultural practices of the host culture. This process includes keeping the cultural customs, traditions, and values of one's old culture as well as learning the customs and traditions of the new culture. It is a process that involves learning and unlearning of cultural practices.
