Abstract
The depolarized Rayleigh spectrum from pyridazine has been obtained from 267K to 347K. The spectra at low temperatures display a shear wave dip at zero frequency due to translation-rotation coupling. The translation-rotation coupling constant is 0.3. The Stokes-Einstein-Debye plot of the reorientation time versus viscosity/temperature displays a marked deviation from linearity. This deviation from Stokes-Einstein-Debye behavior is attributed to increasing dipole-dipole interactions at lower temperatures.
