Abstract
The minority group-affiliation hypothesis contends that when a bilingual person is speaking the language of his or her minority group, that person will be more likely to behave in a manner that perpetuates the majority culture's stereotypes of the minority group. In other words, a bilingual person will adopt the stereotypical behaviors of the minority group when he or she is speaking the language associated with that group .
