Abstract

We consider the process of dissolution of a stationary spherical gas bubble immersed in a liquid in the presence of a fast reaction outside the bubble. We discuss an appropriate choice of boundary conditions for this problem in the case when the characteristic time of reaction is much faster than the characteristic time of any other mass transfer process involved. Asymptotic analysis of the problem is done using the boundary function method. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
