Abstract

Joists are fabricated from 2 in round or 3 in half-round flanges and plywood or flakeboard webs. These are tested for bending strength against Douglas fir and larch 2 by 10's and 2 by 12's and 9-1/2 in deep plywood web joists with laminated Douglas fir veneer flanges. The lodgepole joists are comparable in strength, deflection stiffness and weight.
