Abstract

The thickness dependence of magneto-transport properties in Cu 80Co 20 granular thin films was investigated with different thicknesses. The giant magnetoresistance (GMR)) effect was found to be sensitive to the surface chemistry of the films. The cu-based films were found to have a large value of extraordinary Hall effect (EHE). It was observed that the spontaneous magnetization decresed with the thickness by a large fraction. The results show that when the variation of the spontaneous magnetization is considered the effective EHE has a universal thickness dependence.
